Folders & Favorites
Organize your vault items using folders and favorites. Both features work across all seven item types.
Folders
Folders let you group related items together. Every folder name is encrypted with your vault key, so the server never sees how you organize your data.
Creating a Folder
Open the folder panel
Click the folder icon in the sidebar, or go to Settings > Folders.
Name your folder
Type a name and press Enter, or click Create. Folder names can include spaces and special characters.
Move items into the folder
Open any vault item, click the Folder dropdown, and select the folder. You can also drag items into folders from the item list.
Renaming a Folder
Right-click a folder in the sidebar (or click the three-dot menu) and select Rename. Type the new name and press Enter.
Deleting a Folder
Right-click a folder and select Delete. Items inside the folder are not deleted -- they are moved back to "No Folder."
Deleting a folder does not delete the items inside it. The items remain in your vault and appear under "No Folder."
Encrypted Folder Names
Folder names are encrypted with the same vault key that protects your items. The server stores only ciphertext. This means:
- No one with server access can see your folder names.
- Folder names are decrypted locally when you unlock your vault.
- If you share a vault, shared members decrypt folder names with the shared vault key.
Favorites
Star any item to mark it as a favorite. Favorites appear in a dedicated section at the top of your vault, making them easy to find.
Starring an Item
Open any vault item and click the star icon in the top-right corner. The item is immediately pinned to the Favorites section.
Unstarring an Item
Click the star icon again to remove the item from Favorites. The item stays in your vault -- it just no longer appears in the Favorites section.
Favorites in the Sidebar
The sidebar shows a Favorites section above your folders. Click it to see only your starred items. The count badge shows how many items you have starred.
Favorites are stored as a flag on each item and are encrypted along with the rest of the item data. The server cannot determine which items you have starred.
